There is NO excuse and NEVER an invitation to harass, abuse or assault, or rape. Today, I stood with survivors and wore jeans to support this sexual violence prevention and educational campaign. More information at denimdayinfo.org. #denimday @ma_womenscaucus
We are so very lucky to have an organization like New England Learning Center for Women in Transition (NELCWIT) supporting our community members. I was happy to attend their recent “Power to Persevere” event in Greenfield. NELCWIT is the sexual and domestic violence crisis center of Franklin County and the North Quabbin.
They offer counseling, advocacy, and resources to individuals whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence or sexual abuse, and we assist in prevention and education work to decrease violence in our community. All of their services for survivors are free of charge, do not require health insurance, and are available to people of any immigration status. Learn more at: https://nelcwit.org/
Wonderful day spent with constituents and colleagues Senator Jo Comerford, State Representative Susannah Whipps, State Representative Mindy Domb, Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan!
First stop was a packed house at Greenfield Public Library for a @lwvmafranklincounty engaging legislative conversation.
Next, it was on to the Amherst Survival Center for the annual Empty Bowls lunch. A truly wonderful gathering of community!
This morning, Senator Jo Comerford and I joined the City of Greenfield, Childrens Advocacy Center of Franklin County and North Quabbin area, Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan for a flag-raising ceremony in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Thanks to Ja’Duke Center For The Performing Arts for your beautiful performance!
